Description
AFX 790 PM is a cobalt-free high-speed steel produced by Powder Metallurgy, developed for high-performance cutting tools, cold-work tools and cold-rolling rolls.
Its balanced composition, with high levels of molybdenum, tungsten and vanadium, provides an excellent combination of high hardness, wear resistance, cutting-edge stability, compressive strength and good toughness. The PM route promotes a finer, more homogeneous carbide distribution, improving grindability, heat-treatment response and dimensional stability.
