Cold-WorkToolSteels
Cutting, stamping and forming with maximum tool life
Tool steels supplied as raw material for dies, punches, industrial knives and tools for cutting, bending, stamping and cold forming.
Introduction
Cold-work steels are used in tools operating at or near room temperature, where failures occur mainly through abrasive wear, chipping and edge deformation.
Alloy selection always seeks a balance between wear resistance and toughness: higher carbon, chromium and vanadium contents increase wear resistance, while alloys with a lower carbide volume withstand impact better.
Aços Formosa supplies these steels as raw material for dies, punches, industrial knives and cutting, bending, stamping and cold-forming tools, with technical support to define the alloy and heat-treatment route.
